Members of the Bass Gang came from different groups, which two of them were the original members of Un’Ottava Sottosopra Quartet in the 90’s. Meanwhile, Alberto Bocini, the founder of Florentine Clan and also the member of London Symphony Orchestra, started his double bass recording business and established NBB Records. Amerigo Bernardi was also the member of Florentine Clan and finally, members from the groups Un’Ottava Sottosopra and Florentine Clan met each other in 2002 and formed a new double bass quartet – The Bass Gang. In June of 2013, they started their world tour from Japan and released their debut album “Escapes & Getaways".

The four members are all well-experienced double bass players and graduated from exceptional music colleges. They are the principal double bassist from different famous orchestras in Europe, such as Mahler Chamber Music Orchestra, Orch.del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, The Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Their unique playing styles, with the fusion of classical music and pop music, became their symbol. Except for studio recordings, they also tour around the world to have concerts and promote double bass music.

牛筋幫是當代最著名的低音大提琴室內樂團，它由四位意大利低音大提琴演奏家: 亞美利哥‧伯納迪(Amerigo Bernardi)、阿貝托‧波西尼(Alberto Bocini)、安德列‧皮菲(Andrea Pighi)、安東尼奧‧斯堪卡雷帕瑞(Antonio Sciancalepore)組成。90年代時Un’Ottava Sottosopra四重奏於意大利成立，這個樂團的兩位靈魂人物便是牛筋幫的成員。與此同時，Florentine Clan的老闆Alberto Bocini希望可以開拓低音大提琴唱片市場，於是成立了NBB Records。當時已是倫敦交響樂團成員的Alberto和Florentine Clan的另一位成員Amerigo Bernardi也就是現在的牛筋幫成員。四名低音大提琴家本來分屬於不同樂團，直至2002年，Un'Ottava Sottosopra Quartet 和 the Florentine Clan的成員互相認識並決意組成一個讓人耳目一新的低音大提琴四重奏，牛筋幫從此成立。2003年6月，牛筋幫以日本作為巡迴演奏的起點並開始了他們的多國巡迴表演，並推出第一張專輯。

四位音樂家全部都是正規科班專業出身，每一位都有近二十年的低音大提琴演奏經驗，是牛筋演奏界的高手，個個技藝精堪，能獨當一面，他們都是歐洲知名管弦樂團的首席低音大提琴手。牛筋幫的演奏風格有別於一般弦樂團，擅長遊走在古典音樂與流行樂之間，這種跨界的演繹手法成為了他們的標記。牛筋幫不僅錄製了兩張專輯，同時足跡遍及世界各地以推廣低音大提琴音樂。
