The DUEL
Following their triumphal tour in France and in 40 other countries, the humorous musical duo DUEL has now become ‘feminised’ for its third opus.
Nathalie Miravette, a pianist with a magical touch, is joining up with Laurent Cirade (cello). The raw femininity of one meets up with the boyish mischief of the other to produce a delectable score. He stands like a colossus grand piano. After weighing each other up, they battle it out with resounding notes and implacable chords. One can hear their frustrations, feel their desires, and when both are playing flat out, we witness their sharp clashes. The duo becomes a DUEL, and members of the audience are drawn into the baroque undertones of a contest, in which classical music, jazz and rock vie with each other before striking just the right chord. Their instruments insult one another, answer back, provoke, and then conquer each other via talent and poetry – and always with a great deal of humour.
Staged by Gil Galliot, DUEL casts music in centre stage, in a visual comedy jam-packed with the unexpected highs and lows of harmonious domestic discord.

琴技精彩多變的鋼琴家Nathalie Miravette正式加盟DUEL，與大提琴家兼演員Laurent Cirade合流。女性氣質與對方充滿孩子氣的惡作劇相遇，產生意想不到的化學作用。 Cirade看起來就像個在大提琴背後的巨人，而Miravette在鋼琴後面看起來更小。在相互稱重之後，他們用響亮旋律和和弦進行無止境「比拚」。有時候聽到一人被對方挫敗; 有時候則感受到對對方音樂的慾望。觀眾會聽到彼此的和諧，同時又感受到音樂間的「針鋒相對」在和諧與不合諧之間來來去去! 這對二人組合DUEL將觀眾拉進推拉的音樂對決之中，以古典音樂、爵士樂和搖滾樂為主調相互競爭，產生二人獨有的「和弦」。他們以自己的樂器互相挑釁而又不斷磨合，將音樂和故事情節以二人充滿幽默感的舞台演出「鬼馬」地呈現。作品由法國著名藝術家Gil Galliot擔任舞台指導。
