earned his international acclaim. Foreign engagements have brought him to the
top concert venues in Europe, the US, South America and Japan, with the most
important stages being the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Theatre du Chatelet in Paris,
Doelen in Rotterdam, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Teatro Alfa in Sao Paulo
or Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Petr Jiříkovský has also performed at various music
festivals, such as the Salzburger Festspiele, Schleswig-Holstein, Schwetzingen,
Sion-Valais,
Domestic audiences will recognize Petr
Jiříkovský as the soloist from his recitals at the Prague Spring Festival and
the prestigious Prague Symphony series “World Piano Music”.
Daniel Wiesner studied with Valentina Kameníková at the Prague Conservatory and Peter Toperczer at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and has attended two master classes with Rudolf Kehrer in Weimar. Apart from several prizes from national competitions, Daniel Wiesner won the first prize at the Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow and holds the Hlávka Foundation Award. As a soloist he has appeard with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, and ather of the foremost Czech orchestras. An esteemed chamber musician and soloist, he has performed in most European Countries, the USA, Jordan and Tunisia. He is a member of several chamber ensembles, egIn modo camerale which was awarded by the Czech Chamber Music Society in 1996 and became finalist in the Osakla Chamber Music Competition in the same year.
In 2009, he was awarded the Czech Music Council Prize for outstanding interpretation of contemporary music and promotion of Czech production. An avid proponent of contemporary music, especially of Czech provenance, he has premiered dozens of pieces in His repertoire and recorded many. Apart from regular recordings made for the Czech Radio, his extensive discography includes solo CDs with the music of Bedřich Smetana, Zdeněk Fibich, Sergei Prokofiev, KB Jirák and Miloslav Kabeláč. In 2012, Daniel Wiesner became faculty member of The Department of Piano Cooperation at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
